FBSA BASEBALL
A Place to Play. A Path to Grow.
FBSA Baseball gives players a place to play today and a pathway to continue developing tomorrow.
Our programs offer two primary experiences: Recreational Baseball for community-based development and Competitive Baseball for established tournament teams.
Recreational Baseball
Ages 5U-14U
Recreational Baseball is the foundation of FBSA Baseball, emphasizing development, playing opportunities, sportsmanship, team continuity, and enjoyment of the game.
Player Eligibility
Recreational players must either:
- Live within the City of Frisco, or
- Attend school within the Frisco ISD attendance boundary.
5U & 6U | Developmental Baseball
Our youngest divisions focus on introducing players to baseball, learning fundamentals, and creating a positive first experience.
- Development-focused format
- No competitive separation
- No postseason tournament
- No All-Star eligibility
Learn the game. Get opportunities to play. Have fun.
7U - 14U | A & High-A Divisions
Beginning at 7U, Recreational teams compete at one of two levels:
A Division
For newer and developing teams that are continuing to build fundamentals and game experience.
High-A Division
For more established teams with roster continuity and a track record of success that are ready for stronger week-to-week competition.
Both are Recreational Baseball. The goal is not to label teams as "good" or "bad." The goal is to create better matchups, more meaningful innings, and a better experience for every player.
Teams Can Grow together
Existing teams may remain together so players, coaches, and families can build continuity over time. Teams may progress from A to High-A as they develop.
FBSA Baseball Operations will determine A/High-A placement based on previous performance, roster continuity, coach experience, and overall competitive balance.
New Teams
New teams will be formed using
school-zone priority, helping players begin their FBSA experience alongside classmates and nearby families whenever possible.
Smaller rosters. More Baseball.
To create more opportunities for every player:
5U–8U: Maximum 12 players
9U–14U: Maximum 11 players
Smaller rosters are intended to mean more at-bats, more defensive innings, more repetitions, and less time sitting on the bench.
Recreational season | 7U-14U
- 10-game regular season
- One practice per week
- One game per week
- Single-elimination postseason tournament
- Postseason seeding based on regular-season standings
Registration Includes
- Regular-season games
- Postseason participation where applicable
- Uniforms
- Team equipment
- Insurance
- Postseason awards
All Stars
Players in both the A and High-A Divisions from 7U–12U are eligible for the FBSA All-Star program.
Competitive baseball
AGES 7U - 13U
Competitive Baseball is for established teams already participating in tournament baseball and seeking additional high-level competition within FBSA.
Team Registration Only
There is no individual player registration for Competitive Baseball.
The team's coach or manager:
- Registers the team
- Conducts tryouts
- Selects players
- Manages the roster
FBSA does not place individual players onto Competitive teams.
Competitive team requirements
Teams must have participated in at least:
Three AA or Division III tournaments
during the 12 previous months
Teams must also maintain a roster consisting of at least:
75% Frisco Residents
These standards help ensure Competitive Baseball remains focused on established tournament teams while continuing to serve Frisco players and families.
COMPETITIVE season
- 10-game regular season
- Up to 2 games per week
- Doubleheaders when necessary
- Single-elimination postseason tournament
- Postseason seeding based on regular-season standings
Team Registration Includes
- Regular-season games
- Postseason participation
- Practice facility usage
- Postseason awards
Teams provide their own uniforms, equipment, insurance and tournament-related expenses.
Looking for a competitive team?
FBSA Player Combines
FBSA will host Player Combines twice each year to help players interested in Competitive Baseball connect with coaches and managers:
- At the conclusion of the Fall season
- At the conclusion of the Spring season
The Combine provides an opportunity to be seen by teams looking for players, but participation does not guarantee a roster spot. Teams may also continue conducting independent tryouts throughout the year.
Which Program is right for my player?
Recreational Baseball may be right if:
- Your player is new to baseball or continuing to develop
- Your family values team continuity and community connections
- You prefer a predictable weekly schedule
- Your player wants a development-focused environment
- Your player wants access to the FBSA All-Star pathway
Competitive Baseball may be right if:
- Your player is ready for tournament-level baseball
- Your player wants to earn a spot on a pre-formed team through tryouts
- Your family is comfortable with greater competitive expectations
- Your player's team already participates in AA/D3 tournament baseballe, but are not required to do so
