LEAGUE RULES & POLICIES
Our rules help create a safe, fun, and positive experience for every player, coach and family.
BASEBALL
FBSA Baseball uses Official Baseball Rules (OBR) as its foundation, with FBSA‑approved modifications for youth divisions from 7U through 18U. The rules define equipment standards, conduct expectations, lineup requirements, pitching limits, base‑running restrictions, and coach‑pitch adaptations for younger divisions. Gameplay is structured around time limits, run limits, mercy rules, and division‑specific pitching and defensive guidelines. The overall framework ensures safe, organized, and development‑focused baseball across all age groups.
SOFTBALL
FBSA Recreational Softball follows USA Softball rules with FBSA‑specific modifications designed for youth development and safe, fair play. The rule set covers equipment standards, conduct expectations, lineup and eligibility requirements, and detailed gameplay rules including stealing, pitching formats, and the LookBack Rule. Divisions progress from coach‑pitch to modified player‑pitch and full fastpitch, with clear advancement and safety restrictions at each level. The structure ensures consistent game flow, balanced competition, and age‑appropriate skill progression.
T-BALL
FBSA T‑Ball provides a fully developmental, non‑competitive introduction to baseball for 5U–6U players, emphasizing safety, fun, and basic skill building. Games use continuous batting orders, strict no‑contact rules, and simplified base‑running and defensive requirements to keep play safe and consistent. Coaches play an active role on the field, including managing the tee or coach‑pitching, positioning players, and stopping play when appropriate. The rules prioritize teaching fundamentals, maintaining pace of play, and ensuring every child participates equally.
