Program Description

Recreational Baseball is the heartbeat of FBSA — the perfect blend of development, teamwork, and community. Whether your player is brand new or building on a few seasons of experience, Rec delivers a fun, competitive, and confidence-boosting environment. With coach-pitch divisions for younger players and kid-pitch divisions as they grow, this program builds fundamentals the right way while keeping the game exciting.

Season Snapshot

  • Divisions: 7U (CP), 8U (CP), 9U–12U (KP), 14U (13–14), 18U (15–18)
  • League Age: Age on 4/30/27
  • Schedule: 1 practice + 1–2 games weekly (weeknights & weekends)
  • Season Length: 8-week regular season + 2-week preseason + 2-week playoffs
  • Team Formation: Rosters formed by the League Director
  • Competition Level: Community-based, balanced, development-focused
  • Minimum: 4 teams required per division
  • Note: Weather happens — schedules may shift if rescheduling becomes necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Can my child 'play up' a division?: Yes, a player may 'play up' in the division one-year above their actual age. For example, an 8U player (by birthdate) may play in 8U or 'play up' in 9U.
  • How long is the Fall season?: Our Fall Recreational Baseball season runs from August 24th through November 14th. Teams will start practices beginning August 9th. There will be no games Labor Day weekend or October 4th through 16th (due to field closure for grass over-seeding).
  • When are FBSA league games played?: FBSA Recreational Baseball (A) league games are played on Saturdays or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. Please be prepared to play on either night throughout the season.
  • Are uniforms provided?: Yes, FBSA provides a jersey and hat for each player, and up to four coaches per team. The rest of the uniform, including pants, socks and belt will not be provided - please check with your child's coach for what to buy.
